our story doesn't have just one face or brain behind it 🧠 mystry matcha is a collaborative creative project from a fun loving group of tea addicts 🫖 who want to spread our love for tea and our communi-TEA!

mystry matcha started as a staff-run project from a teahouse in Salt Lake City, Tea Zaanti. for 8 years, our queer-coded teahouse has been serving top-tier Japanese matcha to millions of loyal customers who know good tea when they taste it. now we’re going online, so you can get the same bold, green goodness delivered right to your door. same matcha, same energy—just without the line to wait in.

we dreamt of a communi-TEA (cheesy alert 🧀), a collective of tea lovers making a difference. a place for everyone, no matter who you are or who you love. 🌈 not to mention, 2% of all our proceeds go to support local organizations across the U.S.

our matcha is grown in Nishio and Kyoto, two of the most renowned matcha-producing regions in Japan. these areas have ideal climate, soil, and altitude for growing tencha (the raw leaf used to make matcha).

a slow, traditional grinding process is used in the production of our matcha. the granite stone mills grind tencha into matcha which preserves the tea’s nutrients and flavor, creating a smoother, richer, and more vibrant green powder compared to industrial methods.

every batch is tested for heavy metals, radiation, and other contaminants—ensuring both safety and consistency. many matcha brands skip this step or lack transparency in their sourcing.

our matcha is certified as USDA Organic, JAS Organic (Japan), Kosher (it follows Jewish dietary laws), and compliant with the FSSC 22000 global food safety standard.
